With
KaijaSong repaired and well stocked after visiting the local Costco and Ikea, we set off north to Brisbane for a couple of days of R & R and
sightseeing. We anchored in the river
and quite enjoyed our walking tours and free ferry rides thru this clean and
modern city.
We still had
some mechanical work finish with our new friend Mr. Evan and arranged to meet him at Scarborough Marina which
was a short hop away. This is an
excellent marina facility managed by Richard Barrett and staff who are cruiser
friendly and willing to assist in any way possible.
With work completed
we set off for funky youthful seaside community harbour town of Mooloolaba. This is a small vibrant community where young folks gather along at the many bistros and eatery's oceanside to enjoy great fook and wonderful scenery, if you like watching young folk prancing around wearing not much more than the good Lord gave them at birth.
We anchored in a small protected basis loaded with cruisers coming and going and met up with yet another old cruising buddy Steve
Gould Sc Catalyst.
We met Steve in the San Blas Islands of the Caribbean in 2007. Steve has followed our wake across the
Pacific and was now breaking trail ahead of us hotfooting his way north and
west to the Med. We wished him well as he departed with his new
crew mate Dr. Angelo D'Ugo, a young Italian Plastic Surgeon who was gifting his talents to those
in need in countries he visited.
